All future doctors should start playing more mahjong

Today is Election Day. Fortunately, i am free over this weekend and get to really soak in the atmosphere but getting to do my favourite activity again during Polling Day, which is filling in the numbers on the newspaper centre spread ^=^ Hee hee me just love numbers (but no i will not be accountant or engineer cos those numbers got no drama :p)

Yup work has started. Its tiring but i think so far i m still quite lucky that its still okay Mood has been pretty high so far (oh well at least untill yesterday where i spent 1 hour setting a green plug and yes that pretty much spoil my week for me. Damn sian about that but i guess i failed to hit my gold standard liao. Things should get better i hope) Anyway had my first night call on Wednesday. Did not sleep till 10pm the night after but like what i had said, the years of mahjong trainng had no doubt train me well and so i was still pretty high when i left the hospital at 9pm. I really hate fluids, with all the balancing and calculations that was required and at that late a time, the brain was totally not functioning (not to mention that i was already poor at it during school time.) The patient's had both hypotension and fluid overload. It was a terribly big headache lor but heng heng nothing happened to him in the end so at least the call that night was uneventful.

Week 2 starts after a 48 hour break (and a wedding dinner prior to that. Yummy!!!!) Must again pray hard that all goes well too next week (especially when i have 2 calls next week...)

Lesson 1 learnt
Green plugs do not necessary need to be pushed in all the way. Would have saved one hour if i had know that philopsophy. Haizzzz....

Lesson 2 learnt
Must really know how to balance fluid :( My inepitude during med school is coming back to haunt me. 2 different patients (one in the day & one at night but both with similar problem) equates no sleep for 36 hours... sob sob...
