Tired but HAPPY!!!!
I like to see penalty shoot-outs but i especially hate it if they involve my favourite team and there it was, with my heart in my mouth as i watch the shoot-out taking place. I must admit i was less nervy than in 96 where i almost got an heart attack because if there was anything good about Lehmann, it was his clownish antics during shoot-outs that tend to put the taker off (and thank goodness it really works)
Anyway was pretty disappointed with myself last night because i actually OVERSLEPT. (Lucky Ade called, otherwise i could have missed the entire match and i would be blaming myself for it. A very big thank you here!) Reached home at around 630 after going without sleep on call the previous night and i just plonked myself on the bed with my hair still wet. Dunno why i didnt leave my tv on yesterday to serve as an alarm clock but before i knew it, it was already 12am when the phone rang. Fortunately, the score was till 0-0 when i woke up (just like in the Poland game but the stakes were not that high in that match) And just when i was still recovering from the anger at myself, Argentina scored. I was like oh-no, how how??? Then i realised that shucks i was not in battle gear. Immediately i changed into my Germany jersey and sat down to cheer them on. (And in case some of u are going to scold me for being superstitious again, well the other 3 times i wore the jerseys, the goals all came within 5 minutes of the match starting) Was so upset when i see all the time wasting by the Argentines and the defensive substituitions. Then whew, the equaliser finally came. I was so very happy, jumping up and down my living room. And after the final whistle, i was elated. It had been such a long time that i last since my Germany winning such a big game. Yayyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!! But haha i was so tired out at the end that i dozed off before the Italy match even started and i m having muscles ache all over now. So what even if i did have a bad call the previous night. As long as Germany win, i m HAPPY!!!!!! ^=^
