Spanish Whirlwind

Date 6th April Thursday GMT 1400

Did not get a chance to update over the last few days. The computer that was full of spyware on sunday was inaccessible after i made it easy to access the net cos there was always someone at the booth. Valencia's internet cost money so i decided to give it a miss =p

Ok just to round out on Barcelona first. Realise i did not do my homework at all when Jas asked me whether i had visited La Sagrada Famillia and all i could give was a blank look. (Oh well my only impression of Barcelona was mainly the Nou Camp... heheh... =p Yup anyway rushed through both the cathedral and the LSF. Contrary to Jas, i thought i preferred the Cathedral more, in the sense that its more peaceful. BUt i m very impressed by the Sagrada. I really await its completion but sadly i think its highly improbable to witness its completion in my lifetime (its only slightly more than 50% complete, in case u guys are wondering, after 100 years) It will definitely become one of the wonders in the future (that is if the future engineers adn architects dun screw it up) Sears, Empire State Building adn the dunno what tower in Taiwan. Ha i think they should just forget about trying to outdo each other by seeing who is taller cos the Sagrada just put them to shame adn make their efforts look futile

Went to Valencia next. Haha this is another place where i had contrasting comments in comparison to the 3 gals. Maybe its because they did not stay the night to really fully explore it in it entirety. The Ciudad de las Artes y las Cientas may be just like our own Esplanade but the park that leads up to it from the city centre is a stretch of very long park that is interspersed by soccer fields, basketball courts and skateboarding parks. And there are people jogging along the park even at very late hours. It definitely seemed like a safe place. That whole stretch reminded me so much of Singapore. However, the old part of the city retains its Gothic charm (the cathedral adn all the other iglesia that is everywhere) and so its like the best of both world. In particular, i liked the Real Basilica, the soothing effect it had on me after the visit to the Holy Grail was like wow! In summary, Valencia is definitely an area which i wouldn't mind living in =) Just a side note, the Mestalla looks pretty much like our Kallang, nothing impressive adn its right smacked in the middle of the new part of the city.

I m currently in Seville now. It doesn't seem as exciting as the other but had to forego my plans of visiting the nearby town of Carmona cos it had begun to rain. Went to the Alcazar and the Cathedral (yup another cathedral but funny enough i dun seem to get bored of them and managed to spend an average of 2 hours in every one of them) The Alcazaar was a bit crowded and thus did not really appreciate it. The gals did say that the Al-Hambra in Granada was more impressive. Oh well, maybe next time...

Yup tonight is my last night in Seville. Last night in a hostel too, so doubt i will be able to have free internet access anymore to update my blog. Hopefully that will not be the case though =p But for the moment, CIAO.......
